NATALIE SAHLI | BSocSci(Hons)Psychology, PGCE ECD and Foundation Phase

I am passionate about childcare, education and creating an environment that caters to the very special and important needs of each individual child and family. My background in psychology and teaching has equipped me with the skills to develop a family orientated nursery school where each child and family feels special, welcome and cared for. My World is a nursery school in a class of its own- integrating children with various needs and focusing on each child holistically. Our dynamic staff members and team of therapists work together to ensure that My World maintains its high standards of education and quality care.

ROWENA JOSPEH | B.Occ. Therapy (UKZN). M.Diac. (Play Therapy)(UNISA)

I have been in practice as an Occupational Therapist for the past 27 years. My area of specialization is in the field of paediatrics focusing on developmental delays, behaviour and emotional disorders in children. The knowledge and experience gained as a sensory integration therapist and play therapist enables me to assess and treat a child holistically. Children with various diagnosis are seen in therapy i.e. learning disabilities, developmental delays with a neurological basis, emotional and behaviour disorders in childhood, as well as children who are victims of trauma. The use of sensory integration therapy in the treatment of child victims of trauma is the focus in my current studies. Parent and teacher participation is crucial to the overall progress of the child and therefore forms an important component in each child’s therapy. Because early intervention is the key to enable a child to reach their maximum potential, a child with challenges will thrive and develop when part of a holistic therapy program, in an appropriate learning environment. Occupational therapy has a pivotal role to play to achieve this outcome.

CARINA SMITH | BA. Speech and Audiology (WITS)

I am a qualified speech pathologist and audiologist. I graduated in 2012 at the university of Witwatersrand. I love my job, especially when I get to work with children who are individual in their own way and my treatment is based on that. I treat everyone for their individual needs and as holistically as possible. A good communication system is always my first priority. As Opera says... “Great communication starts with a connection.”
